Ciudad (pob., 2000: 196.086 hab.) en el sudeste del estado de Nueva York en EE.UU. Se ubica junto al río Hudson al norte de la ciudad de Nueva York.

Antiguamente en el lugar hubo una aldea de indios norteamericanos y luego formó parte de la adquisición de la Dutch West India Co. a los indios en 1639. En 1646 se incluyó en una concesión de tierra otorgada a "Jonkheer Adriaen van der Donck. La porción meridional de la antigua ciudad de Yonkers se anexó a lo que posteriormente pasó a ser Bronx, en 1874. La industria se encuentra bien diversificada e incluye el rubro de las imprentas y editoriales, así como la fabricación de ascensores, productos químicos, componentes electrónicos y vestuario.
